001.You act in TV series ("Man from Atlantis" from 1977), movies (‘Christmas with a View’ from 2018), does theater (Natural Afflection),

presents (“Bingo America” from 2008), produces (‘Vamping’ from 1984), directs ("Major Crimes" from 2016) and sings (the song “Together

We're Strong” from 1983). If you have to make a choice from all your activities that you prefer what would this be?

In my career I have only sung one song. That was "Together We're Strong" from 1983 with the French female singer Mireille Mathieu. I don't find

myself a singer. You either won't see me play in a musical. From the TV series "Dallas", "Step by Step" and "Major Crimes" I got directed together 83

episodes.I only have directed the episodes of the TV series "Major Crimes”. With both "Dallas" and "Step by Step" I combined directing with acting.

That was no problem for me. In my brain I always think in two manners, as an actor and as a director. Even if I don't direct the project. That’s simply

how I work. It is not distracting, for me thinking like that works well. I never will either let the director of the relevant project know how things can be

improved. The director is the boss on the set. I love doing as many different things as possible. TV, movie, drama, comedy. But if I have to make a

choice, I go for TV series. With TV you have more time to expand your role. Also is the workload faster than by movie.

002.You sometimes hear that every character that an actor or actress plays anything contains of itself. Can you name both an agreement and a         big difference between yourself and Frank Lambert from "Step by Step" of 1991?

Oh, I love Frank. I like to ridicule myself in a funny way. Comedy really appeals to me. Yet I am best known for my drama roles. Apparently I have a

face for drama. The difference between us was that I am maybe a little more reserved than Frank. But there are many more agreements between us.

We are both good dads. I am just like Frank passionate. He was also very dedicated to his wife, to make her happy. My real wife thought Frank was

very much like me. I think if you see Frank, you see the most of the real Patrick Duffy. Frank could be a friend in my own circle of friends. In fact, I

have friends in my circle of friends who are very much like Frank.

003.At what point in your career are you so far the most proud and/or do you have the best memories?

In that case I will go for the West End play ART that I played in 2001 in London – England. My wife said she thought it was my best role ever. When I

got to win a prize for my work, I think that is certainly important. It means that I have done something good. It also means that there is enjoyment of

that role. If I should have to choose between a jury prize or a public prize, then I go for a public prize.

004.How do you look back on your role as Mark Harris in the TV series "Man from Atlantis" from 1977?

My role in the TV series "Man from Atlantis" is the most important role. It was the start of my career. I didn't have to do audition for my role in "Dallas”.

This because the makers of the TV series "Dallas", had seen me in "Man from Atlantis”. Actually, "Man from Alantis" was my audition for "Dallas”. Just

like Mark, I would like to have superhuman powers. Then I would like with my fame to help make the world a better place. Now my face is my fame,

       my "superhuman powers", haha.

005.What does the TV series "Dallas" mean for you and your career?

Ninety percent of what happens in my life is due to the TV series "Dallas”. Bobby was a 33-year-old young man in the prime of his life in the

fourteenth season from 1991, while he celebrating his 60th birthday in the first season of "Dallas" from 2012. There were therefore 28 years in

between. In both cases, however, Bobby was a strong man, also as a 60 year old. So the biggest difference was the age. I have played Bobby as a

young man, but also as an aged man. Something like that doesn't happen often. That is free exceptional. I am not afraid that the public will see me

forever as Bobby Ewing from "Dallas”. I know it will be that way. But I have no problems with that at all.

006.Do you still have contact with your former colleagues from "Dallas" of 1978?

Both Steve Kanaly (he played Ray Krebbs in the TV series, ed.) and Charlene Tilton (she played Lucy Ewing Cooper in the TV series, ed.) I still

speak regularly. Victoria Principal, who played my wife Pamela Barnes Ewing in the series, already left the series after season 10. She has faded

more into the background because after her permanent role in the TV series "Titans" from 2001 she has fully focused on her own successful skin

care line 'The Principal Secret’. Victoria wants her skin care line do as much as possible on her own. Not that people think that she is that actress

from "Dallas" and that they buy something from her then. I understand that and I respect it. At the time that Larry Hagman (he played J.R. Ewing in

the TV series, ed.) were still alive, the two of us were together with Linda Gray (she played Sue Ellen Ewing in the TV series, ed.) a real unit. After

Larry died in November 2012 at the age of 81, Linda and I are become even closer.

007.What can we expect from you in showbizz area in the future?

There are some things in the planning, but unfortunately I cannot tell anything about it.
