OLIVIER RICHTERS

Olivier Richters, born on September 5, 1989 in Hilversum in North Holland of the Netherlands, made his debut in 2018 with a role in the movie 'Ravers'. Between 2020 and 2023 he appeared as Rawbone in the movie 'Knuckledust', as Olivier in the movie 'Miami Heat' and as Hauke in the movie 'Indiana Jomes and the Dial of Destiny'. Furthermore, in 2021, Olivier had roles in the movies 'Black Widow', 'The Electrical Life of Louis Wain' and 'The King's Man'. He contributed to the short film 'Nailed' and had a guest role in the TV series "Gangs of London". Perry spoke to the tall but very friendly Olivier Richters for an interview for the website.

001.You act in TV series (a guest role in “Gangs of London” from 2020), movies (‘Black Widow’ from 2021), are a bodybuilder and model (for

the monthly magazine Men's Health from 2018). If you had to choose one of all your activities that you enjoyed most, what would it be?

One of my dreams was to become an actor. That has now been achieved. Of course I still do bodybuilding. Not for competitions, but to come across

well on film. So it's actually my business card. With acting jobs you can suffer from stress. That's how it actually works if and when a new acting job

       comes along.

002.You sometimes hear that every character an actor or actress plays contains something of themselves. Can you name both a agreement

and a major difference in character between yourself and Hauke from 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' of 2023?

Certainly. It only becomes more real when you can draw from yourself or memories of yourself. Hauke is far away from me. A big difference is that he

is a terrifying Nazi. While I am described as the big friendly giant. Hauke was not given enough depth by the writers of the movie to say what exactly

an agreement between us would be.

003.You have already worked with quite a few Hollywood stars. However, who has impressed you the most?

In that case I go for Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones) and Mads Mikkelsen (Dr. Voller) with whom I worked on the movie 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of

Destiny'. I had quite a few scenes with them in the movie, so I spent a long time with them. We also flew together to the new film sets. This also

allows you to get to know someone privately. I would like to work with both of them again, because I really enjoyed working with them. The

collaboration with one actor or actress may have been a bit more pleasant and more approachable than with the other, but everyone I worked with

was very professional. And that's the point. I would like to work someday with Dwayne Johnson, Brad Pitt and Arnold Schwarzenegger. I would love

       that if that worked.

004.Do you remember how you reacted when you heard you had the role in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”?

Actually that turned out very strange. I had made two audition tapes and sent them to the casting directors, but after four weeks I had not heard

anything. So I had forgotten about that whole audition. At one point the dresser of my other film, 'Borderlands', said she had to take my

measurements for my new film role. New film roll? I then said I didn't know anything about it. Then the dresser from 'Borderlands' who is good friends

with the person in charge of the clothes at 'Idiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' said that I had the role in it. It is of course very strange to realize that

this is a film series that matters. And that if I were no longer there, I would have become a bit 'immortal' thanks to my role in that film. Previously I had

only seen parts three and four, so 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' from 1989 and 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' from

2008. Once I got the role, I have now also seen parts one and two, so 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' from 1981 and 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of

Doom' from 1984. My first time on the film set was when the train scene from the beginning had just been shot. Harrison Ford was still completely like

Indiana Jones in terms of clothing. When I saw him I went up to him, introduced myself and said that I would follow him as the character Hauke. He

then jokingly replied in his Indiana Jones role that he would quit and walked away.

005.What can we expect from you in the future in showbiz?

From Friday, August 9, 2024, I can be seen as Krom in the cinemas in the movie 'Borderlands'.
